All entrants must join the discord server here: https://discord.gg/P3nNRwwj and type their GU player ID in the field #enter-tournament anyone who fails to complete this step will be removed from the event. All players must match the in-server name with their name on challonge otherwise they may also be removed from the event.

Entrants will cap at 256 players. This will be first come first serve the first 256 who follow instructions correctly will be able to compete in the event. Entry fee is free.

Tournament rules:

Banned sets: Genesis, Trial of the Gods, Etherbots, Lights Verdict

Banned rarities: Legendary, Mythic

Any player caught using a banned card will receive a MATCH forfeit if caught by the arbiter (FakeMews). If a player mistakenly queues the wrong deck they are allowed to self-report and only take a 1-game loss. If you are self-reporting, please mention this in the score you report once the final result is found Ex: Yugor self-reports illegal deck in game 1, then wins match 3-2. If they play the match and do not self-report and then the illegal deck is found in discovery by FakeMews the penalty will be a MATCH penalty. NO EXCEPTIONS.

In the first three rounds (based on 256 players) these will be best of 3 (you must win with two different domains)

In all remaining rounds (excluding the championship) It will be best of 5 (you must win with three different domains)

Championship round: Best of 7 must win with 4 different domains.

Tournament Rounds:

Below is the timeline and the number of games for each round: Please note that players are allowed (but not required) to play ahead of schedule up until the final 4. Ideally, we will have a live final 4 on stream. Any match which is not completed in the allotted time below will be decided determined by effort placed in to scheduling the match. If tournament arbiter FakeMews deems neither side put an effort into scheduling the match the end result will be a double forfeit. If a player has been contacting their opponent in the appropriate matchmaking arena and has not heard a response back, they can claim a victory 24 hours before the round time is over. Communication is key and this rule will be enforced unlike other tournaments in the community which dont care when you show up.

Round of 256: Best of 3 Round start: January 27th 1am EST Round end: February 1st 1am EST

Round of 128: Best of 3 Round start: February 1st 1am EST Round end: February 6th 1am EST

Round of 64: Best of 3 Round start: February 6th 1am EST Round end: February 9th 1am EST

Round of 32: Best of 5 Round start: February 9th 1am EST Round end: February 12th 1am EST

Round of 16: Best of 5 Round start: February 12th 1am EST Round end: February 15th 1am EST

Round of 8: Best of 5 Round start: February 15th 1am EST Round end: February 18th 1am EST

Round of 4: Best of 5 Round: TBD hopefully a live Semi-final/final

Championship: Best of 7 Round: TBD hopefully a live semi-final/final on Feb 18 or 19th depending on player availability
